My name is Sandy Rose B. Suyom. I am a registered nurse in the Philippines. I took the IELTS exam on the 15th of January 2011 in Tacloban City. It was my first time to take the exam. Honestly, I was a bit unsure about taking the exam because I was used to taking multiple-choice tests in nursing school and unfortunately, IELTS is not one of them. To add to my apprehension was my lack of confidence in expressing myself in English. I tend to stutter and get nervous during interviews that would definitely not help me with my Speaking Test. However, despite my fears and worries, I decided to push through with the exam. With a lot of hard work and preparation, I am happy to say that I got a band score of 8.5 (Listening=9, Reading=9, Writing=7.5, Speaking=8). How did I do that? Go for ELA! One of the best Teachers I’ve had (Sir Keith) and I must say the most accommodating staff here in Tacloban. I can never be more satisfied that I have enrolled in ELA. They took care of everything and are very responsive to any queries. I was only able to take the course for a month and a half but managed to get good scores and it is because they are the best at what they do.
